Rest of Faith

While many strive and others work to make life happen, faith rests.

Please don't misunderstand me. I don't mean loafing or taking a spiritual vacation, I mean believing resting. That is what the Bible teaches as the Sabbath rest of God.

The work of faith is to believe. It trusts God that what we are unable to do, He can do. It is a difficult work for many, because it places no confidence in us. It demands that we simply trust God.

Jesus told his friends that this is the work he had called them to, "this is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent" (John 6:29).

Lay aside all attempts to work out your own future. Trust Jesus. Let the peace of God flood your life as you enter his rest. As you do this, the rest of faith will bring His best to you and in you.
